The city is facing MASSIVE budget cuts, especially towards arts, music, and cultural programs (of course), which besides being enjoyable to attend are beneficial to the city itself. Chicago needs all the help it can get and shutting down many f the programs that make the city exciting during its best seasons (Summer and Fall) is certainly NOT going to help matter.

Lincoln Park Zoo red panda sex update!:

Well, we managed to raise all the money ($326!) and the zoo is stoked. Thanks to everyone who reblogged the prior post about this and of course the donors.

As it turns out, someone else bought one of the “love nests,” so the money will be spent buying one enclosure for the red pandas to get frisky and also a few other things on the zoo’s wish list. Yay!

Let’s help the red pandas at Lincoln Park Zoo have sex!

Lincoln Park Zoo has a wish list that includes the need for two, $163 “nest rooms” for these endangered red pandas to engage in “courtship.” In otherwords, these adorable creatures need some private time from the public’s prying eyes.

The Windy Citizen is starting a fundraising drive to help buy these panda sex rooms and you can chip in, too! I got the ball rolling with the first $20, but I’ll chip in another $20 if we raise the first $163.

So, donate and reblog. Do it for the pandas doing it!

The Chicago Transit Authority is proposing to increase bus and train fares under its 2010 budget that will be unveiled today to help close a projected budget gap of up to $300 million.

But the outlines of the fare hikes as well as proposed service reductions are contained in a legal ad the agency placed in the Chicago Tribune this morning.

The major changes would include:

• Basic train fares to $3 from $2.25.

• Basic bus fares to $2.50 from $2.25.

• Express bus fares to $3 from as little as $2.25 now.

• Full fare 30-day passes to $110 from $86.

• Seven-day passes to $30 from $23.

it’s like they want me to drive a car instead of riding their trains and busses.

$110 bucks? are you SERIOUS????? it just went up to $86 this year and i’m still coming to terms with that. looking forward to 2011, when it will officially be cheaper to lease a car than take the cta.

I NEED YOUR HELP!

The Roles are:

· Max (who is the story teller and who also doubles as Warrior/1st cave dweller)

· Jason (Who doubles as The Chief)

· Corey (who doubles as the Shaman)

· Billy (Who doubles as Warrior/2nd cave dweller)

· Sarah (Who doubles as Woman/3rd Cave dweller)

I’m a film student at Columbia College Chicago, and this movie is a two minute(ish) film for Production 2.

Its titled “Squirrels” and is a horror movie… sort of. Think: Are you afraid of the dark or Goosebumps, lol. There is no onscreen speaking, rather sound will be recorded seperately and added in post. A copy of the film synopsis as well as script are avalible upon request. I cant pay you, but food, credit, as well as a copy of the film will be provided.

The shoot will probably be next weekend or during the following week. I will work around your schedule.

If you dont feel like acting or doing a voice over, I’m also looking for people to help out on set.
